DOBSON — Surry County Schools and the Surry County Schools Educational Foundation recognized Holly Scott, data manager at North Surry High School, as the October 2017 Employee of the Month.
The Surry County Schools Employee of the Month recognition program began in the 2013-2014 school year. Each month an employee of the Surry County School System is chosen through a nomination process, which is open to the public. Community members, parents, students, teachers, and other employees complete a form located on the Surry County School System website at www.surry.k12.nc.us under Links. Employee of the Month is awarded for ten months – September through June.
Scott received several nominations for the honor, Dr. Travis Reeves revealed to the Surry County Board of Education this week. He read one of the nominations to the board.
“Holly is amazing. She answers questions about enrolling students, course codes, attendance, or PowerSchool. Holly is quick to assist, even when she is busy completing other tasks.
“She is a committed and dedicated employee and always works hard to ensure that students have the best opportunity for success. If taking work home in the afternoons or on the weekends means that a student will have a better chance to succeed at North Surry, then Holly does just that. With 28 years of experience, Holly plays a key role in how well North Surry operates on a day-to-day basis.”
Yadkin Valley Real Estate, Group 3 Real Estate, Crouse’s Auto Detailing, 13 Bones, and Scenic Motors are sponsors for the program for this school year. Each Employee of the Month receives gift cards from these businesses. Dr. Reeves said that their participation and generous support is a greatly appreciated and important to the success of the program.
The Surry County Schools Educational Foundation is committed to investing in education and influencing the lives of students through educational experiences inside and outside the classroom as well as investing in teaching professionals. The Employee of the Month program is one of the ways the Foundation recognizes employees.
