First Lady sends books to Pilot

Pilot Mountain Elementary School and their students recently received something you don’t see every day: A gift from the First Lady.

Yes, the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.

As part of National Read a Book Day held on Sept. 6, First Lady Trump and her staff send out books to a school in each state.

”According to the White House press release Mrs. Trump worked with the Department of Education to identify schools with programs that have achieved high standards of excellence, recognized by state and national awards and Blue Ribbon Awards,” the school said in describing how it received the books.

Among those schools was Pilot Mountain Elementary. The books the First Lady sent included Seuss-isms!; Because a Little Bug Went KaChoo; What Pet Should I Get?; The Cat in the Hat; I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!; One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish; The Foot Book; Wacky Wednesday by Theo LeSieg; Green Eggs and Ham, and Oh, the Places You’ll Go!.
