WESTFIELD — Westfield News is coming to you from Williams, Arizona. Jack and I are riding our motorcycle on Old Route 66. We started on Route 66 in Illinois. Been through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and we are in Arizona. So now it’s California or burst.

Albion Missionary Baptist Church will be selling drinks at the Nunn Brother 17th annual Bluegrass Festival this year. The festival will be July 23-26, with special guest The Lost & Found Bluegrass Band. Come for the music.

Greg Jessup’s daughter’s birthday is July 21. Caitlin Jessup will be Sweet 16. Happy Birthday, Caitlin from your daddy. Greg would also like to say a belated Happy Birthday to his wife Crystal. Her birthday was July 11.

A vote of 3 to 2, the Stokes County Board of Education voted to close Francisco Elementary School after more than a century of serving the community.

Sympathy goes to Priscilla Lawson and to all the family of Mrs. Caudle. Mycleta Mae Wilson Caudle, 84, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on July 17 at Woltz Hospice Home.
