Don George, with help from many volunteers, pulled together a reunion for anyone who attended North Stokes in the 60s. There was a great response with more than 180 planning to attend. It was held at North Stokes Saturday, Sept. 24 during the afternoon in the cafeteria with Little Richards BBQ catering the event.

It was the 50th reunion for the class of 1966 and the class members were very involved with Don putting this together. Several teachers were there also. With this many people and this many years involved everyone looked at the name tags before looking at the faces.

North Stokes High School classes 1983 through 1990 held a reunion at Cody Creek in Dobson on Saturday, Sept. 24. Rhonda McCreary, Sandi C. Hall and Troy Brown were in charge of getting everyone together. They had a great turn out!

The North Stokes Class of 1971, 45th Year Reunion was held Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Doug Stanley Farm in Sandy Ridge. A meal was served and there was live entertainment by Acoustic Harmonies from Mount Airy.

The regular turkey shoot will be starting back up at Rock House Ruritan Club on Saturday, Oct. 1. We start feeding you at 5, with the shoot starting at 6. The turkey shoot is located five miles out of Pilot Mountain on 268 East, beside Double Creek Fire Dept.

We do this to help people out in the community. Please tell your friends bring your family it is a family event

The Pell reunion was held at Sammy and Janice Lawson’s home Sunday, Sept. 25.

Hacker House opens Friday Sept. 30 and will run every Friday and Saturday evening until Halloween (Monday) including Sunday, Oct. 30.

Homecoming at Brown Mountain Baptist Church is Sunday, Oct. 16.

The Francisco School reunion is Saturday, Oct. 1, fearing a covered dish lunch 12:30 p.m. Anyone who ever attended Francisco School is encouraged to be there.

Brims Grove Baptist Church Homecoming is Oct. 9. The speaker will be Wayne Moore. A meal will follow the service.

The Francisco Farmfest is coming Saturday, Oct. 1. The festival will celebrate the people, the arts and traditions, and the agricultural heritage of the area.

Fall revival services are scheduled for later this fall at Westfield Baptist Church. Join them beginning Sunday morning, Oct. 2. Services continue through Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m each evening. The speaker is Dr. Chuck Register, executive leader of the Baptist State Convention’s Church Planting and Missions Partnerships Team.

Westfield Friends Meeting will hold its annual bazaar on Oct. 15.

Family Dollar will open soon in Westfield. The store is being stocked.

Happy birthday to Sarah Mitchell Rogers of Collinstown. Her birthday was Sept. 27.

Delano Creson’s birthday is Oct. 3! Hallie Hall wants to wish her friend Delano a very Happy Birthday.

Cathy Ann Lynch Bowman, age 63, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22 at her home.
