The Francisco School reunion is Saturday, Oct. 1, fearing a covered dish lunch 12:30 p.m. Anyone who ever attended Francisco School is encouraged to be there.

Marion Vaden will be 98 years young on Sept. 16. Happy Birthday! Marion took good care of his tomato plants this summer. He’s still farming!

Rock House Ruritan Club is having a yard sale Sept. 16 and 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The yard sale will be in the Rock House Ruritan Building’s basement. Go check them out.

Over Labor Day I worked at Town and Country and celebrated my birthday. I made about 150 people fat and happy. I worked my booth in Hillsville then packed up and came home. Just worked as usual. We gave Esmeralda a bath and had hot dogs and corn on the cob. We had two of the grandones for the weekend.then we went to the farmers market and had a great lunch at The Moose Cafe. Sometimes the short outings are special too.

We enjoyed time with our youngest daughter Amy Baker, who is an instructional specialist at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington.

The Francisco Farmfest is coming Saturday, Oct. 1. The festival will celebrate the people, the arts and traditions, and the agricultural heritage of the area.

Fall revival services are scheduled for later this fall at Westfield Baptist Church. Join them beginning Sunday morning, Oct. 2. Services continue through Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m each evening. The speaker is Dr. Chuck Register, executive leader of the Baptist State Convention’s Church Planting and Missions Partnerships Team.

The Brown Mountain Baptist Church Jr. Youth Group needs your help. They want to share the warmth with others this year. On Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon the youth group is having a coat giveaway. This will be for children up to age 18 in the community that needs a coat. Coat donations would be appreciated. The coat needs to be clean and all the buttons and zippers working. Some gloves, a hat, a scarf and socks to go with the coat would help too. I’ll be glad to get the coats and accessories to the church if you will bring them by my house.

Westfield Friends Meeting will hold its annual bazaar on Oct. 15.

A revival is scheduled for Westfield Friends Meeting at 7 p.m each Thursday evening beginning Sept. 8. The speakers, by date, are: Sept. 8, Steve Wood, pastor of Forsyth Friends; Sept. 15, Posie Simmons; Sept. 22, Ricky Rogers; Sept. 29, Linda Anderson.

Happy Anniversary to Scott and Anne Standen and John and Vickie Ruszkowski.

Kent Anderson’s birthday was Sept. 9. Sarah, his wife, wants him to have many more birthdays. Sarah’s niece, Renee Kiser, had a birthday on Sept. 9 also. Sarah sends happy birthday wishes to Kent and Renee.

Bobby Pack would like to wish her twin brothers, Donald and Ronald Pack, a very happy 45th Birthday.
