Siloam News

SILOAM — We are enjoying this good weather in our area. We are very optimistic and are planting seeds in the box gardens. Might even plant beans during the week. I do hope we produce more than last year.

On May 21 the Baptist Men will sponsor a golf tournament at Beaver Creek Golf Course. So, if you want to play, call Siloam Baptist Church and leave a message.

We had a pleasant surprise on Sunday morning at church. Mr. Danny Hardy, his daughter, Wendy, her son, Isaiah and her daughter Noel came to visit. It was so good to see them. They were former members of the church. We also had the Moseley family as visitors.

Ralph Hutchens came home from the hospital on Saturday. He recently had knee replacement. He must recuperate soon because so many people depend on his good yard-mowing abilities and tree-cutting expertise. If it can be mowed or cut, he and his workers can do it!

I hope you folks have been reading about what’s happening at Skippy’s Restaurant in Winston-Salem. It is a great story! Just shows that love is still in this world.

Mrs. Mae Crissman celebrated her 91st birthday on Monday. She was honored with a party after choir practice on Sunday evening at the church.

Well, don’t tire of reading this bit of news! I am now 80 years old and am growing my first crop of beets. And they are growing! Can’t wait to pull the first ones.
