SILAOM — November is here! That means Thanksgiving is on the way. All sorts of events are taking place at local churches and community centers.

Tyler Bonham was baptized at the Baptist Church on Sunday. The church welcomed many visitors.

The churches report that “Trunk or Treat” events were very successful and safe. And the chicken stew was well received.
Teresa and Gary have returned from a cruise. I know they enjoyed that event.
Billy and Peggy Smith drove out to Newport, Tennessee last week to attend an annual reunion of the men in the 164th Inf. Reg. 3rd Division. These men began Basic Training at Camp Rucker in Alabama. After Basic Training, Billy was stationed at Fort Hood in Texas and Fort Benning, Georgia. The reunion was held at the Best Western. They enjoyed several meals and many places of interest.
Mark came up during the weekend to spend some time with Papa Bob and granny too! He helped with some chores on the farm and then on Sunday other family members came from Harrisburg and they all attended the Boyd reunion in Ararat, VA. Said they got to see lots of relatives.
And we got to spend some quality time with the two great-granddaughters!
AND Linda Mendenhall had another birthday on Sunday. No, I won’t tell her age!
