There will be a benefit for Josh Bogges at the Rock House Ruritan Club on Saturday, August 26 from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. Josh is 25 years old. He has a loving wife and two small children. He was in a car wreck that broke his back. Josh’s family will be giving the benefit. BBQ dinners are $6 each, just BBQ is $3. Orders will be taken early.

There will be yard sale items you can look through and buy. If you would like to donate any yard sale items or baked goods to help with the benefit it would be greatly appreciated.

Albion Missionary Baptist Church is having its Homecoming Sunday, August 27. Special music by David Goins with meal to follow in the Fellowship Building.

Mabe Brothers Service Center Night Twin 20s Late Model Event & BGS Chain Race is Friday, August 25 at 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.. This will be at 311 Speedway in Pine Hall.

Sympathy goes to Norman Vaden and the Vaden family. Sympathy also goes to Margaret’s sister, Mycleta Burwell and her nephew, Ray King.

Mrs. Margaret Helen Simmons Vaden, age 90, of Westfield died Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Village Care of King. She was born August 14, 1927 in Stokes County to the late Dallas & Willie Wright Simmons.

Sympathy goes to the family and friends of Stanley East.

Stanley Gray East, age 51, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was born on Feb. 17, 1966 in Stokes County, to the late Ted East and Emily Niten East.
