Lloyd and Jennie Joyce’s children had another big week end together in Mount Airy. Pansy J. Stone, Linda Sue J. Robertson, Katie J. Wooten, Lawanda J. Jessup, Norma J. Lawson and Cathy J. Watkins, the sisters, went out for lunch at Taco Bell and then to Belk shopping.

The sisters checked into rooms at the Hampton Inn in Mount Airy and talked until time to meet their brother, Michael Joyce, at 13 Bones restaurant. They had a delicious dinner and all went back to the Hampton Inn to socialize and spoil Michael. They played games till wee hours in the night. Brother Michael went home and the sisters went to Wal Mart. They all had a great time. It was over to soon. What a great bunch. Can’t hardly wait till next year. This was their 39th year having a brother and sister weekend.

Headline News: Excitement at the Nunn household last Saturday afternoon. Loud squeals and barking dogs in the garage had my heart pounding. I called Jack and Jack and Jeff Cartwright came to investigate. Turned out to be a groundhog. (I had never heard a groundhog squeal before.) Jeff said it had to be the dumbest groundhog in Stokes County to come in a garage with six dogs. Jeff used a hoe to run the groundhog out from its hiding place. The pack of white girls ended the excitement. Everything is back to normal.
