There will be a pinto bean and hot dog supper for Leo and Fronia Gravely on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Albion Baptist Church Fellowship building from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations only! Hope to see you there.

There will be a benefit for Mike Palmer on Friday, Feb. 24 in the lower parking lot at the police stain Pilot Mountain. Chicken plates will be available for pickup at police station. Plates include: 1/2 chicken, baked beans, barbecue slaw, roll and dessert.

Janice Lawson and Robin Atkins celebrated Robin’s birthday at Pinto’s Cafe in Sandy Ridge this passed week. Happy Birthday, Robin!

The Westfield Ruritan Club Will have hot dogs and bingo games March 11. Y’all come on over.

It’s Chicken Stew time again in Francisco. On Saturday March 11. we will have our annual Chicken Stew. The price is $5 a quart and we are doing advance orders only. All orders must be submitted by Feb. 28 at midnight. To order see any fire department member or call the fire department anytime at 336-351-2696 please leave a message with your name and telephone number and someone will call you back to verify your order. Octavia Blades Edwards, 95, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born June 12, 1921 in Coatesville, Pennsylvania to the late Ansley and Florence Bailey Blades. Mrs. Edwards was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Airy and retired from Stokes County School system as a librarian.
