It’s Chicken Stew time again in Francisco.

On Saturday March 11, we will have our annual Chicken Stew. The price is $5 a quart and we are doing preorders only. All orders must be submitted by Feb. 28 at midnight. To order see any fire department member or call the fire department anytime at 336-351-2696. Please leave a message with your name and telephone number and someone will call you back to verify your order. As always thank you for your continued support of our organization and community.

The Westfield Grill is open, I think the new name is Amy-Joe’s! I was told the hours are from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Oh! Oh! The Country Grill has Wi-Fi!

Someone told me the tourists are already coming to eat. Oh my!

Janice Lawson celebrated her birthday on Jan. 31. Pastor Linda Anderson took her out for lunch. Janice had lots of visitors and phone calls. She got cards and one card told her she was “older than dirt!” I know she got some gifts that were especially for Janice. Happy Birthday, Janice! Have many more birthdays!

The turkey shoot at Rock House Ruritan Club continues on Saturday evenings. They start feeding you at 5 p.m. and the shoot starts at 6 p.m.

They are located five miles out of Pilot Mountain on 268 East, beside Double Creek Fire Department. They do this to help people out in the community. Please tell your friends and family. They will have a shoot every Saturday night weather permitting.

Judy Lupo and Bill Bottoms are having birthdays this week. Happy Birthday from Hallie Hall.

Sympathy goes to Mrs. Octavia Edwards family. Mrs. Edwards passed away Saturday evening on Feb. 4.

Special prayers for Dwight Collins, Sandra W. Stevens, Margaret Vaden and Nancy Speaks.
