Happy New Year! Welcome each day of 2017 with thanks and celebration.

It’s been an amazing Christmas. This year we celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ on Sunday which made it very special to hear the scriptures read in church, to sing many of the the Christmas hymns and to enjoy family with the love of the Holy Spirit in the heart.

Families have been enjoying each other’s company all week with food, games and music.

Mycleta Burwell had a house full of grateful people at her table on Christmas Eve. Lots of good food and good fun.

Jack Nunn, Elsie Cartwright, Janie Sheppard and their families, the late Tom and Lois Nunn family, celebrated Christmas at the home of Dr. Earl and Janie Sheppard on Christmas Day. A great family time with the spirit of Christmas.

Sarah and David Anderson had Christmas dinner for the late Ed and Inez Cook families at the Rock House Ruritan Club.

The late Carl and Mary Lee Love families had their Christmas lunch in the fellowship hall at Brown Mountain Baptist Church.

Latisha and Mike Humphries have been working on Latisha’s parents home, the late Tom and Iva Jessup. Latisha and Mike’s family and Latisha’s sisters and their families had their Christmas celebration in Tom and Iva’s home this year. Isn’t that wonderful?

The Gordy families, Mary Romine, Marshall Gordy, Ruth Robertson and Nancy Speaks had all their children and grandchildren for a Christmas party at the Rock House Ruritan Club on Christmas Day.
