The Westfield Volunteer Fire Department will complete a community toy drive this week and will then get to play Santa, delivering toys to local children just in time for Christmas.

A small closet at the fire station has been filled with toys donated by local residents. Toys will continue to be collected until 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24. Toys for the drive can be dropped off throughout the week at the Family Dollar Store, located next to the Westfield Volunteer Fire Station at 3386 Old Westfield Road.

On Saturday at noon, firefighters will begin hand delivering the toys to families with need in the Westfield community.

“We’re looking forward to it,” Westfield firefighter Jacob Kline said. “It should be a lot of fun.”
