PILOT MOUNTAIN — A man is in stable condition after being shot in Pilot Mountain Saturday morning.

Marvin Lee Huff, 52, was shot at a garage located at 507 S. Stephens Street in Pilot Mountain, according to Police Lieutenant Mike Palmer.

Palmer said the Pilot Mountain department received a call at 8:58 a.m. Saturday. Surry County Emergency Services personnel also responded to the incident.

According to EMS Director John Shelton, Huff was transported by way of Air Care to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Palmer said Huff’s condition was stable as of Saturday afternoon. He also said he could elaborate very little about what happened at the garage.

“All I can really say is that it’s early on in the investigation,” remarked Palmer. “Right now we are just talking to any potential witnesses.”

The police lieutenant said he could not say whether the wound was self-inflicted or if others were involved in the incident. He said more information would be available once authorities complete their investigation.

More information regarding Saturday morning’s incident will be available in future editions of The News.
