Merry Christmas to Jerry and Lisa Chilton and Levi Jessup! Brad and Sherri Jessup gave the threesome tickets to the Asheville Symphony for their Christmas gifts in December. The concert consisted of the Mozart Concerto for Violin & Orchestra No. 3 and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D Major ‘Titan’.

Jerry, Lisa and Levi spent time in downtown Asheville on Saturday, May 13 before the performance. They dined at The Southern Kitchen. On the way home Sunday, Jerry and Lisa took Levi to Mars Hill University for a look around campus. Mars Hill will be Levi’s residence for the next two years. They also made stops in Abington and Wytheville before the journey ended. It was a beautiful weekend for a road trip.

I have a new body part. It’s a hip! Yes, the good Lord and the talented doctor blessed me with a hip replacement. I had surgery on Tuesday and was home on Wednesday. Lots of people been checking on Jack and me and caring for us. Phone calls, Facebook messages and e-mails have kept me busy answering them. Elsie and Jimmy Cartwright, Nancy and Sandy Cook, Barbara and Roger Cave, Tina and Dwight Collins, Martha Moorefield, Kaye and Tandy Pell and Yvonne Love have kept us in home cooked food. The food was much appreciated. Barbara Cave and Nancy Cook have surrounded me with beautiful flowers. Kindness is good!

Janice Lawson is really sick. Prayers for Janice.

Sympathy to the Nichols families.

Robert “Bobby” Marshall Nichols, age 89, of Pilot Mountain, entered eternal life with his Lord on May 18 at his home.
