Surry Community College is now offering the following courses beginning in March for those interested in improving their digital photography skills.
Natural Lighting and Posing the Human Body will be the subject of a course offered on Tuesdays, March 7 through 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 136 of The Pilot Center, 612 E. Main St., Pilot Mountain. During this class, students will learn the basic core techniques and skills for lighting and posing of the human body. The class will include model(s) and exploration of the use of natural lighting indoors and outdoors as weather permits. Pre-registration and pre-payment of $50 are required.
An Improving Your Photographic Skills: Student’s Choice course will be offered on Thursdays, March 16 through April 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 136 of The Pilot Center, 612 E. Main St., Pilot Mountain. Due to the topic and nature of this learning series, students will experience a flexible class time as the course progresses. Participants will meet the first day of class to discuss possible topics and shooting opportunities for each class period. Those enrolled should be equipped with a DSLR camera with interchangeable lenses and a sturdy tripod; more than one lens is recommended but not required. It is encouraged that students be highly familiar with the settings on their camera. Pre-registration and pre-payment of $60 are required.
