Congratulations to Don Moss. It’s official! Don now holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the most volunteer hours, 47,000 at WFUBMC. What a ministry!

North Surry High School has just announced its new Varsity Head Basketball Coach — Travis Gammons! Travis’ mama is Brenda Collins George from Westfield.

The NC Mud Run was held at Jomeokee Park in Pinnacle on Saturday. Challenge, camaraderie and plain old dirt fun are what you will experience at a Marine Mud Run. It is a 5K run in the mud with an obstacle course that is put on by the U.S. Marines.

Jane Priddy Charleville, Annette Wood and Allison Hester participated. These women are from this area and good friends of mine.

Michelle Legare Martin had company this past week-end. Richard Legare, her dad, from Conyers, Ga., and Alex Grillo, her nephew, from Houston, Texas. They were visiting on their way to Rhode Island to see other relatives.

Sundi Shelton McGee is a proud Mama. Her daughter, Kelsie McGee, made the A honor roll at Chestnut Grove Middle School for this last nine weeks. She’s also spending four days next week at Myrtle Beach, S.C., for cheer camp with her cheerleading squad, Cheer Extreme All-Stars.

Stuart Beach Music Festival 2010 was June 12. What A Party!! It was hot and there was a heavy shower in the early afternoon, but everyone weathered it all (pun is intended). “The Best Time You’ll Ever Have... ‘til Next Year!!” Lots of people from the Westfield area was there visiting friends and enjoying the music. Make plans to go next year. It will be the 30th Anniversary Celebration.

Chris and Karen Carpenter celebrated their wedding anniversary this past weekend.
