A good turn-out of youths and parents visited the Armfield Civic Center Saturday as signups continued for the upcoming East Surry Little League season. Here, 10-year-old Colby Burrow looks on as his dad, Greg, takes care of paperwork. According to ESLL Public Information Officer Adam Key, about 80 players had signed up by 2 p.m. “The weather hasn’t cooperated,” Key said smiling, “but we’re pleased with the response we’ve received and we’re looking forward to a good season. We had right at 300 kids last year and, with our expanded boundaries, we’re looking for that many if not more this year.” Sign-ups will be held over for one last day this Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Armfield Center.
