DANBURY — The Stokes County Arts Council received a grant from The Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation in the amount of $2,500 in support of “The Stokes County Foothills Hayride.”

The purpose of the Foothills Hayride is to celebrate Stokes County’s musical heritage by creating a 12-month schedule of programs thus making Stokes County a musical destination. In 2009, Stokes County was added to the Blue Ridge Music Trails.

The Stokes County Arts Council’s mission is to inspire creativity, celebrate heritage, enhance education, and promote economic development through tourism. The arts council expressed appreciation to The Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation for supporting its commitment to make a positive difference to the community.
