Pilot Mountain is hiring.
Candidates are being sought for two volunteer positions on the Pilot Mountain Tourism and Development Authority (TDA) and also for a paid part-time staff position as Main Street coordinator.
During his report to Pilot Mountain Board of Commissioners on Monday night, town manager Michael Boaz announced that there are two openings on the TDA board resulting from expiring terms of current members. Candidates to fill the board vacancies are being sought.
Volunteer board members
The Tourism Development Authority (TDA) uses occupancy tax funds collected from local hotels and motels to promote tourism in Pilot Mountain. The TDA spends funds on advertising, beautification of public spaces, and local festivals and events.
“It’s fun to be in the TDA,” said Boaz.
“It’s a big time,” agreed Scott Needham, TDA chairman.
Persons interested in serving on the TDA board can find an application on the town website, pilotmountainnc.org or can call the town hall at 336-368-2247.

A job description and instructions to apply for the position can be found on the town website. The position will be open until filled, but applications should be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, in order to be considered in the first round of application review.
