WESTFIELD — Revival Starts this week at Westfield Friends Meeting. Please come to hear Archie Creed give the sermon on Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. There will be some good singing too. I plan to put flowers in the Meeting House in memory of Mama Jennie. Her birthday was this passed week. I’m sure you ate cake and ice cream in her honor. She sure did love ice cream!

Francisco Presbyterian Church women will be having a pancake breakfast Sept. 18 from 7-11 a.m. Donation only.

Labor Day: The last vacation of summer, Hillsville flea market, school has started, no more white clothes after Labor Day, football and hunting season starts and we celebrate the men and women in the workforce.

Chuck and Hope Trumpie have a grand daughter. Kate Finley Beroth, born August 25th at 11:22 pm. She came to them at 7.2 pounds and 21 inches. Matt and Stacey Beroth are the proud parents. Grandpa and Granny Trumpie have theses great big smiles. They are so happy to be grandparents along with Great Granny and Pa Nelson, Hope’s parents.

Hope Trumpie’s best gal pal, Kim Sutton celebrated her birthday with Chuck and Hope and the Nelsons on August 29.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is Sept. 12 at Riverside Park. Anyone wishing to contribute or join the team can contact Hope Trumpie or go on line at act.alz.org/site/TR?fr_id=7637&pg=entry. Our team name is CK Technologies.

The Westfield Ruritan Club is sponsoring a Country Ham Breakfast Sept. 12 from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the Westfield Community Building, 6631 Westfield Road Highway 89 (across from the Westfield Post Office). The meal will include country ham , gravy, eggs, grits, apples, homemade biscuits, and drinks. Donations only. Proceeds go to school scholarships.

Double Creek Fire and Rescue is hosting a Community Yard Sale Sept. 12 at 7 a.m. until it’s over. Outside spots $10, inside spots $15, and tables available while supplies last. Contact Kim Boyd at 336-978-6778. All proceeds go to Christmas Fund to provide Christmas for families in need.
