Brown Mountain Baptist Church’s Jr youth group is having a Free Coat Giveaway on Nov. 5 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. for kids in the community. Anyone that knows of a child in need of a coat for this winter please call (336)453-4995.Leave a message telling the child’s name and what size coat they need. They can pick it up the day of the giveaway. The giveaway is at Brown Mountain Baptist Church PO Box 73, Westfield, NC 27053-0073.
On Saturday, Nov. 19, everyone is invited to Westfield Friends Meeting to the Thanksgiving community meal/celebration beginning at 5 p.m. with music provided by the group Reel Shady. Members are asked to bring desserts and beverages to add to a traditional Thanksgiving meal which will be provided. A love offering will be received for the musicians.

There will be a Families In Need event at Old Westfield School Cafeteria on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. There will be 20 guns given away in 20 minutes, $500 in cash prizes, and a BBQ supper. A $20 donation is requested.

Mr. Roy Gene Hall, 84, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born April 19, 1932 in Davidson Co. the son of the late Ted Hall and Bertie Clodfelter Hall. Mr. Hall was a member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church.

Mr. William Harold Boles, loving father, PaPa and brother, age 85, of Pinnacle, died Friday, October 28, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 8, 1931 in Stokes County to the late Ernest William Boles & Ethel Tilley Boles.
