Tristen Mason, who is 12 years old from the Pilot Mountain/Westfield community, had the opportunity of a lifetime when his travel baseball team The Carolina Chargers travelled to Cooperstown, New York, and played baseball with 105 different teams from all over the United States.

Cooperstown is best known as the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum which opened in 1939 and the baseball facility known as The Cooperstown Dream Park spans more than 165 acres and has 22 lighted baseball fields. The Carolina Charger’s team has been planning this trip for over a year and raised money to support the trip through various fundraising projects in the community. During the week of July 4, The Carolina Charger team played against teams from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Maryland, and Georgia and finished 48th out of 105 team and each player and coach was immortalized by being inducted into the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.

Tristen Mason has played with The Carolina Chargers team for two years and plays short stop, second base, pitcher, and right field. His parents are Chase and Holly Mason.
