WESTFIELD — Dean Barley’s home and the heart of the Vineyard Camp burnt this passed week. Eddie Carter, the Pastor of Brown Mountain Church, met with Dean to get ideas of how to best meet his and the Vineyards needs. Brown Mountain Church will be working with several churches in the community that have been touched by Dean’s ministry and friendship. Brown Mountain Church will be hosting a pinto bean lunch for Dean Barley March 5 from 1 – 6 p.m.

For $6 you have your choice of: 1) 2 bowls of pintos, cornbread, dessert and drink; 2) 2 hot dogs, chips, dessert and drink; 3) 1 hot dog, 1 bowl of pintos, dessert and drink. There will also be A Silent Auction and live music. Please come out and show your support.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 12 at Old Westfield School Cafeteria and Gym from 4 – 8 p.m. There will be a Fundraiser for Jeff and Robin Hooker. Jeff is having some serious health issues and needs our help. As many of you know, Jeff could really make a Mandolin talk; outstanding musician. There will be a hot dog and pinto bean supper along with 3 bands playing: The Not Brothers featuring Ronnie Edwards with special guest Lou Reid; the Country Boys; The Nunn Brothers. Join the fun cause there will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. Please make plans to come out and help Jeff. All donations greatly appreciated. The proceeds

The Rock House Ruritan Club and Scotty Marshall’s church family are sponsoring a benefit to raise money to assist with his medical expenses. Scotty has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma Stage 4 brain cancer. He is married and has a 10 year old daughter. He had surgery and will be undergoing treatments of radiation and chemo. It will be a hot dog luncheon and auction on February 27 from 11:30 until 1:30 at the Rock House Ruritan Club. The auction will start at 1:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend and would like to make a donation, make checks payable to Scotty Marshall and mail to Lanette Moore at 1880 Pleasant View Church Road, Danbury, NC 27016.

Turkey Shoot every Saturday night at Rock House Ruritan Club. They start feeding at 5, shoot start at 6. Please come out and help them to help other people.

Pilot Mountain Outreach Center needs toiletry, canned chili and saltine crackers donated.
