WESTFIELD — Happy Valentines Day, friends!
Fundraiser for Jason Blevins on Feb. 21 at Galax Moose Lodge, 1114 E. Stuart Drive, Galax Virginia. 24333. An auction and luncheon will be held. Lunch starts at noon and goes till 2:30 p.m. Carry outs will be available. Plates will include lasagna, salad, bread, dessert and drink. Adult plates are $8 and children under 12 plates are $5. A silent and live auction will start at 1:30 p.m. Please join the family in this worthy cause to help Jason battle his cancer. All proceeds will go towards his medical expenses. Most of you listen to Jason Blevins on the radio everyday! He is a DJ at 98.1 WBRF in Galax.
Jason is the grandson of Carl and Mary Lee Love and son of Brenda Love Blevins. The Love family will be having another benefit for Jason and Jason’s family on April 30 at the Fairview Ruritan Building in Galax, Virginia. Jason’s cancer is spreading and he is going to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee., Feb. 6 – 7, to hopefully get some treatments that will slow this cancer down.

Janice Lawson is still celebrating her Jan. 31 birthday with friends and food! Deborah Tuttle and Hong Chapman took Janice to Cracker Barrel in Mount Airy for lunch on Groundhog Day. Margaret Wilmoth asked Janice out to eat and they went to Pilot Mountain for lunch on Wednesday. Janice said she was going to celebrate all month.

There will be a Fundraiser for Jeff Hooker. Jeff is having some serious health issues and needs our help. As many of you know, Jeff could really make a Mandolin talk; outstanding musician. There will be a hot dog and pinto bean supper along with 3 bands playing: The Not Brothers; the Country Boys; The Nunn Brothers. Please make plans to come out and help Jeff. All donations greatly appreciated.
The Rock House Ruritan Club and Scotty Marshall’s church family are sponsoring a benefit to raise money to assist with his medical expenses. Scotty has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma Stage 4 brain cancer. He is married and has a 10 year old daughter. He had surgery and will be undergoing treatments of radiation and chemo. It will be a hot dog luncheon and auction on Saturday, Feb. 27 from 11:30 until 1:30 at the Rock House Ruritan Club. The auction will start at 1:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend and would like to make a donation, make checks payable to Scotty Marshall and mail to Lanette Moore at 1880 Pleasant View Church Road, Danbury, NN 27016.

Mary Lou Shelton passed away Feb. 5. She worked in the cafeteria at Francisco School. A graveside service was held at Big Creek Monday, Feb. 8.
