A State Employees’ Credit Union location is coming to Pilot Mountain.
The credit union bought the building that formerly housed Premium Tobacco Company U.S. Inc. that sits at 204 Lola Lane.
According to Ed Woffman, executive vice president of State Employees’ Credit Union property management, the location is set to open sometime in 2017, but he could not offer an exact date or time frame.
“The credit union purchased the existing facility earlier this year and is in the very early stages of assessing modifications needed to the building,” Woffman said.
Woffman explained that information concerning the Pilot Mountain location is limited at this time, but said that information concerning the specifics of the location will be announced soon.
According to Kimberly Quinn, vice president and finance director for Premium Tobacco Company U.S., Inc., her company has relocated to a location on Main Street.
“We were approached last year by a real estate agent of theirs,” Quinn said of the credit union’s purchase of the facility.
Quinn added that from her understanding the credit union contemplated the decision of whether or not to build a facility from scratch or purchase and renovate an existing space before purchasing the Lola Lane location.
