Pinnacle Ruritans recognize students

The Pinnacle Ruritan Club annually awards a scholarship to a student who attended Pinnacle Elementary School and this year that scholarship was awarded to Lauren Katherine Cox, a 2017 graduate of West Stokes High School.

Cox will be attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in the fall to study English. Cox is the daughter of Meredith Sprinkle Cox and Shawn. Maternal grandparents are Charles and Wanda B. Sprinkle of Pinnacle.

The club also honors the Spelling Bee Champion of Pinnacle Elementary School each year with a gift certificate and plaque. This year the recipient was Bailey King, a fourth grader. Bailey is the daughter of Dawn Manning and Tim King. The plaque will be permanently displayed at Pinnacle Elementary School.

The Pinnacle Ruritan Club serves the community of Pinnacle in western Stokes County in many different ways. Anyone interested in joining the organization may attend a meeting. The club meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Pinnacle United Methodist Church.

Contacts are Russell Millner, president (336-368-5773) or any Ruritan member.
