Pilot Mountain Elementary School participated in the Walk to School Event recently.

Parents of fifth grade students dropped their children off at the corner of Friends and School Street in Pilot Mountain to allow them to walk to school. Many faculty and staff members were there to greet the fifth graders and guide them as they walked down Friends Street.

Faculty members, as well as the Pilot Mountain Police Department, worked together to ensure students arrived safely at school. This event was held in an effort to raise student awareness about traffic safety, bus safety, and parking lot safety.

All fifth grade students who participated in the event were given a bright, neon shirt.
