Police Reports


• An incident/investigation report was filed on Aug. 1 reporting possession of a firearm by a felon at 126 W. Main St., Pilot Mountain.

• An incident/investigation report was filed by Pilot Mountain Police Department on Nov. 15 by Speedway, S. Key St., Pilot Mountain, reporting larceny by employee by taking NC lottery tickets from place of work. The investigation was cleared by arrest by another agency.

• A North Carolina Uniform Citation was issued to Jose Alex Laffaga on Nov. 16 charging him with possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A corresponding incident/investigation report lists the drug paraphernalia as one silver grinding device valued at $1 and one white and orange smoking device valued at $1.

• An incident/investigation report was filed on Nov. 16 regarding possession of Schedule 2 controlled substance drug violations and possession of drug paraphernaliain a parking lot on Key Street in Pilot Mountain. Cassey Mae Gray of Ararat was subsequently arrested on Nov. 18 on warrants related to that investigation.

• An incident/investigation report was filed on Nov. 16 by Pilot Mountain Police Department regarding possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana at the Hwy. 268/Hwy. 52 roundabout.

• An incident/investigation report was filed on Nov. 16 reporting larceny by taking two batteries out of a box truck, valued at $292. The report names the victim as Pilot Air, W. 52 Bypass, Pilot Mountain.

• A Department of Motor Vehicles report reports a Nov. 16 crash between Haley Sechrist Cassell and a deer. Cassell’s vehicle sustained an estimated $2500 damage, but was derivable. The report does not state the condition of the deer.

• A North Carolina Uniform Citation issued on Nov. 16 charges Carli Renee Essick, Pilot Mountain, with possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana.

• A North Carolina Uniform Citation issued on Nov. 16 charges Kayla Christine Lane, Winston-Salem, with operating a vehicle while driver’s license was revoked.

• A North Carolina Uniform Citation issued on Nov. 18 charges William Felts with traveling at a speed of 51 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone.

• An incident/investigation report was filed on Nov. 19 involving misdemeanor larceny by removing an item out of package and taking from store. The report names the victim as Dollar General, S. Key St., Pilot Mountain.
