Daylight Savings Time ends on Nov. 5 — change your clocks. Fall back! (clocks are turned backward 1 hour)

Sunrise and sunset will be about one hour earlier on Nov 5. than the day before. There will be more light in the morning.

If you didn’t get a chance to wish Jack a Happy Birthday on Oct. 31 with all the Halloween activities going on, call him up 336-326-7642. Happy Birthday, Jack Nunn. Jack always has a party on his birthday and gets lots of candy.

The Rock House Ruritan club is having vendor sale on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Brown Mountain WMU will have a Fall Bazaar and Chicken Stew Nov. 4 from noon to 6 p.m. Chicken Stew is $7 a quart. An adult meal is $7 for two bowls, dessert and drink. A kid’s meal, for ages 4 to 12, is $5 for one bowl, dessert and a drink. Vendors will be there with items to sale

Pilot Mountain Flower Shop is expecting you at its Christmas Open House and Customer Appreciation Day on Friday, Nov. 3 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Displayed to buy will be themed trees, wreaths, decorations and unique gifts. Register for a door prize. Refreshments will be served. Go get your Christmas decorating started!

A fall festival hosted by Westfield Baptist Church set for Saturday, Nov. 4 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church. There will be games, hayrides, inflatables, a rock wall, candy and food. This is a family event for the community. Go have fun!

A Holiday Bazaar hosted by Westfield Elementary PTO will be held Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Westfield Elementary School. Shop with local vendors and crafters. Concessions will be available for sale.

There will be a Families in Need 20 Guns in 20 minutes pinto bean/hot dog supper on Nov. 11 at Old Westfield School cafeteria starting at 4 p.m. There will also be two $500 cash prizes. Meal donations to families in need. Gun tickets sold separately.

There is a Christmas One-Stop Shop Fundraiser planned for Saturday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Calvary Christian School in King. Christmas Shop till you drop and support the high school seniors.

Prayers for Calvin Love, Donnie McQuinn, Devan Fagg, Jeff Hooker, Hallie Hall, James Poteat and Mike Palmer.

Sympathy goes to the Durham and Shelton families.

Laura Lee Durham Shelton, age 91, of Westfield, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26 at Woltz Hospice Home.

She was born on Feb, 7, 1926 in Stokes County to the late Rosi Lee Durham and Carrie Dunman Durham.
