Meet me at the pole

Students at Shoals Elementary School, just like their counterparts elsewhere in Surry County — even across the nation — marked the annual Meet Me At The Pole ceremony last week.

Meet Me At The Pole is a national movement where students gather at their school’s flagpole for a time of prayer and reflection. As usual, this year’s event was organized by students, led by fifth-grader Addison Collin.

The front lawn at Shoals Elementary School is filled Wednesday morning as students gather for the annual Meet Me At The Pole prayer time.
