On Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 PV2 Dalton Ridout graduated from Army Basic Training in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Present for his graduation as well as the Family Day demonstration on Thursday Sept. 7, were his mother, Rhonda Ridout, both of his brothers, Adam and Alex Ridout, and grandmothers Pam McCreary and Kathy Bowman.
Dalton will be staying at Ft. Sill for his Advanced Individual Training, graduating in November, and then returning home. Dalton joined the Army National Guard on June 15, 2016.
Brims Grove Baptist Church will be having Homecoming Sunday on Sept. 17. Mark Hall will bring the Homecoming Sunday message. Special music will be singers from Mark Hall’s church.
Special prayers are needed for Ruth McDanial. She is 102 years old. Ruth was taken to the hospital and brought back home this past week.
Westfield Friends will hold its fall revival on Thursdays in September with a guest speaker and special music for each service. Scheduled speakers include Posey Simmons on Sept. 14, Rickey Rogers on Sept. 21 and Pastor Linda Anderson on Sept. 28.
There will be a fund raiser spaghetti supper for Amanda Leftwich at Brown Mountain Baptist Church, 2269 NC 66 Hwy N, Westfield on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. Amanda will be attending Youth With A Mission missionary training in October and later travelling to foreign countries to spread the Word of God. Crossroads Community Church Women’s Group is having a breakfast from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. and a yard sale from 8 a.m. until noon Sept. 16 at The Francisco Community Building. You can join in the fun and make a little money too. They will be renting tables to any vendor or yard seller that would like to help the women’s group in raising money for their ministry. The Annual Francisco School Reunion Covered Dish Luncheon will be Saturday, Oct. 7 at noon. at the Francisco Volunteer Fire Station.
