Westfield Friends is having revival each Thursday in September at 7 p,m. The speaker for Sept. 7 is Ray Lambe and special music will be provided by David Goins. Other speakers include Posey Simmons on Sept. 14, Rickey Rogers on Sept. 21 and Pastor Linda Anderson on Sept. 28.

Moratock Park in Danbury will be the center of the 43rd Stokes Stomp Festival on the Dan, Sept. 9and 10, hosted by the Stokes County Arts Council.

On Friday, Sept. 8, there will be a $10 admission night at 311 Speedway for KIDS Power Wheels Night. Those 12 and younger are admitted free. The racing includes twin 15s for open wheel mods, 35 lap pro late model, 15 lap extreme stock 4s and ss4s, and 15 lap ucar mania. From 4 to 5 p.m. there will be free hot dogs.

There will be a fund raiser spaghetti supper for Amanda Leftwich at Brown Mountain Baptist Church, 2269 NC 66 Hwy N, Westfield, Saturday, Sept 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. Amanda will be attending Youth With A Mission missionary training in October and later travelling to foreign countries to spread the Word of God. Meal will be donations. Get $1 tickets for a 50/50 drawing, a Rugar rifle and TCT 32” TV, contact Amanda Leftwich at 336-934-3159 and Jan Cox 336-351-2985 for more information or tickets. Crossroads Community Church Women’s Group is having a breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and yard sale, until noon, on Sept. 16 at The Francisco Community Building. You can join in the fun and make a little money too. They will be renting tables to any vendor or yard seller that would like to help the women’s group in raising money for their ministry. Your cost will be $10 per table. If you are interested contact Kim Holland or Cindy Collins.

The Annual Francisco School Reunion Covered Dish Luncheon will be Saturday, Oct. 7 at noon. at the Francisco Volunteer Fire Station. The community building will be open at 11:30 a.m. Before or after lunch, you might like to attend the Francisco Farmfest, which is 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. that day, being sponsored by Our Communities of Northwest Stokes. We look forward to seeing you.

Sympathy goes to the Fulp family. Lisa “Red” Fulp, 56, entered into her eternal home with God on August 31, 2017, at Woltz Hospice Home. She entered this world, February 16, 1961 in Sandy Ridge, second daughter to Geneva and Connie Watkins.
