Happy 4th of July!

Allison Hutchens Lawson received a CNA excellence recipient award from Baptist Hospital on Thursday, June 22. Allison is a role model for others with her good-natured approach to challenges. She works on the leukemia and hematology in cancer center floor. Her proud parents are Sherri and Tim Hutchens.

Austin Simmons had a great time at the Elk Creek fiddlers convention. He took home firsst place in the dobro competition.

Congratulations to the East Surry Little League District 2 8-10 Champions. Good luck in Forest City for the state title. Tristen Mason, the son of Holly and Chase Mason is on the team. Way to go, Tristen!

Tina and Dwight Collins spent a few days a Kure Beach. Tina said the fishing was terrible and it was hot. They did have a good time at the aquarium. Seeing the sharks was especially breathtaking.

Brown Mountain Baptist Church shared blessings of fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ from Crossroad Church last Sunday morning as Hannah’s Haven representatives shared testimonies and information about how God is working in and through them. A covered dish lunch was held in the fellowship hall after the service.

Brown Mountain Baptist Church will hold a blood drive Friday, June 30 from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please sign up to give blood. Call 336-403-5044 to inform Pastor Eddie Carter.

Westfield Baptist Church Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 .pm. This VBS is for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade.

Vacation Bible School is July 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brown Mountain! Lunch will be provided.

Jack Nunn and I celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary at the Pilot Knob Inn!
