PINNACLE — The Double Creek Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will host its fourth annual car and truck show on Saturday, with classic vehicles of all types and from all generations invited to take part. The station is located at 2863 N.C. 268 East.
Registration will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. with an entry fee is $15 per vehicle. According to Double Creek representative Kim Boyd, both old and new cars, trucks and motorcycles will be welcomed to take part.
“This is open to vehicles of any make or model,” she noted.
Vehicles will be judged for first, second and third place trophies, with a “People’s Choice” award also to be given. Trophies will be presented at 2 p.m.
Refreshments, including hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks, will be available throughout the event. No admission will be charged.
The annual event is organized jointly by firefighters and board members, with proceeds to be used for department’s Fireman’s Fund.
“This is an important day for us,” Boyd noted. “It helps us to buy the extra equipment that is needed and to meet other needs as they arise. This helps us to meet needs in our community. Last year we were able to use the fund to adopt families with need in the community in order to help them out at Christmas.
“It’s a chance for people to come out and see some nice cars, to have some good fellowship and support the fire department. We’re looking forward to a good day.”
