The Armfield Civic Center Dolphins finished the 2016 summer season with a fourth place finish at the Tri-County Swimming finals at the Kernersville YMCA recently.
The Dolphins, coached by Jillian Kowalcik and Ashley Horn, had several individuals that captured overall medals including Emory Anderson placing third overall in the 8 and Under Girls division while Elise Marion finished sixth overall. In the 11-12 Girls division, Armfield’s Cassidy Hull placed sixth overall.
Avery Tucker placed first overall in the 13-14 Girls division while Hadly Tucker took second. Julie Hicks finished third overall while teammate Gracie Pruitt earned fourth place.
For the 15-18 Girls division, Armfield’s Kelsey Tunstall captured first overall with Sydney Beck placing sixth. In the 15-18 Boys division, Nolan Gilliam finished in third place.
Armfield also earned several honors in relay events including the 8 and Under Girls team of Elise Marion, Sophie Harris, Emory Anderson, and Ragan Hall capturing a silver medal in the 100 Yard Medley.
The Dolphins team of Haley Joyce, Cassidy Hull, and Lydia Hough took silver in the 11-12 Girls 200 Yard Medley. Julie Hicks, Gracie Pruitt, Hadly Tucker, and Avery Tucker captured a gold medal in both the 13-14 Girls 200 Yard Freestyle and 200 Yard Medley Relay.
In the 15-18 Girls team of Anne-Louise Tunstall, Katelyn Southard, Sydney Beck, and Kelsey Tunstall earned a gold medal in both the 200 yard freestyle relay and 200 yard medley relay. The 15-18 boys team of Nolan Gilliam, Jakwon Thompson, and Alex Butner earned a bronze medal in both the 200 yard freestyle relay and 200 yard medley relay.
The Kernersville Riptyde finished as the overall champion of the eight team meet with Long Creek taking second place.
