PILOT MOUNTAIN — A sign, noting that vehicles and license plates are being digitally recorded, now greets visitors as they enter the outside park section of the Armfield Center.
According to Director Scott Cato, the equipment was installed about a month to six weeks ago after instances of vandalism and suspected illegal activities at the center.
“We believe there was some illegal activities taking place there,” Cato noted, “but this should put a stop to it. This gives us the opportunity to monitor all vehicles coming and going.
“So far,” he continued, “the results have been good. We’ve been very happy. This provides a safer environment for everyone and that’s good for the children and for our community.”
